We’re just back from a celebration lunch at Ox in Oxford Street, Belfast. It was the most heavenly meal and super spoiling to be with the amazing team there. As you know we’ve been supplying them with whatever the Walled Garden has to offer year round, so we’ve played a minor part and sweetly they’ve made us feel like we are major players.
It was a joy to see Alain and Steven relaxed and so happy with all the accolades they’ve won in the last few weeks. Michelin is really important because it is an international standard, but equally the Good Food Guide 2016 named them the no. 1 restaurant in the UK. Diners Club crowned them the number one restaurant to watch in Europe.
We went mad and brought a driver with us, the leader of the team here at Ballywalter Park, LA. She really appreciates great food and the immensity of Ox winning the Michelin star was not lost on her. She is always a joy to be with.
LA had Pigeon with spelt, carrot and lovage.
BD went for Seatrout, mostly because of the vin jaune. I had Monk tail with squid ink, chervil root and sea lettuce.
BD & I had Abondance, 2014 to accompany our fish choices. LA enjoyed the super sparkling Tipperary water!
We all went home very happy and congratulations again to the whole team at OX! And thank you for including us in the celebrations.
