You can’t make an omelet without breaking some eggs……..

or cakes for that matter!

After the physically hard work of yesterday, today I’m baking Strawberry Tort for 50+. I couldn’t possibly complain that my work is’nt varied. Here are the first four, the last is still in the oven as I type. It took 16 of Clement’s finest eggs to make this little lot, and then of course there were our own strawberries from the Walled Garden. Usually when we have a group I make Brownies. I’ve had plenty of practice so I’m quite good at those. Now it is the strawberry season and it seems a shame not to utilise what I have on my doorstep. After all I’ve yet to work out how to grow cocoa beans!
