Sunday Times Magazine………. Season to taste

How exciting did that sound? I immediately turned to page 42 and there were the most delicious recipes by Angela Hartnett and Gizzi Erskine. However, looking through the ingredient lists I sadly have to report that despite living in one of the mildest spots in the British Isles, I have only two of the seasonal ingredients available in my Walled Garden. One is asparagus, the other is sage! How is this seasonal? It would be if we were living in France or Italy, but not in the British Isles.

Above you can see the bed where the beans, peas etc. etc. will be going in next week, if it’s not too windy. Below are the plants, obviously ready to go.
